As September approaches, tech enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly awaiting Apple’s annual iPhone event, where the tech giant unveils its latest iPhone models and other exciting products. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, speculates that the event is likely to take place on either Tuesday, September 12, or Wednesday, September 13, this year.
If history is any indication, pre-orders for the new iPhones will commence on Friday, September 15, followed by the official launch on September 22. This strategic timing allows Apple to capitalize on significant revenue before the fiscal quarter comes to a close at the end of the month.
Over the years, Apple has held its iPhone events during the first two weeks of September, ensuring that it can unveil its latest creations and generate considerable revenue before the quarter’s end. This year seems to be no exception. However, there have been rumors of production challenges that might impact the availability of certain iPhone models or potentially lead to a slight delay in the launch.

Recent reports from 9to5Mac indicated that multiple carrier partners have barred employees from taking time off on Wednesday, September 13, in anticipation of a “major smartphone announcement.” While it remains unclear why carrier employees’ off days would be blocked on the event day, it does align with Gurman’s reported schedule.
Typically, Apple’s iPhone events are held on Tuesdays, except when the event coincides with Labor Day on the preceding Monday. In such cases, the events are moved to Wednesdays to accommodate media travel without conflicting with the holiday. Since this year’s rumored event week does not include Labor Day, it might suggest a Tuesday event on September 12, but Apple could still opt for a Wednesday event for various reasons.
As per Apple’s customary practice, media invitations are usually sent out approximately one week in advance. As a result, there is still some time before we receive official confirmation of the event date. However, as the event draws closer, additional rumors and leaks are likely to surface, shedding more light on what to expect.

In addition to the highly anticipated iPhone 15 lineup, the September event is expected to unveil updated versions of the Apple Watch, namely the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models. The event will also provide final details and launch dates for iOS 17 and related operating system updates. As is customary for Apple events, there may be a few surprise announcements and product updates that keep the audience engaged and excited.
Apple enthusiasts and tech aficionados will undoubtedly be keenly following the event, ready to pre-order their favorite devices and experience the latest innovations from the tech giant. The event is expected to be a milestone in Apple’s journey of technological excellence, and it will undoubtedly shape the direction of the smartphone and wearable industry in the coming months.
